What it is
The Bellroy Via Work Bag is Bellroy’s slim commuter brief. The official page calls it “a modern briefcase with a clean, professional look and only the features you need.” It was previously named Tech Briefcase.
It is a 14-liter shoulder-and-handle bag, not a backpack. Official specs reviewed 2026-08-27: 14L, 31.7 oz, external dimensions 13 × 18.1 × 3.1 in. A padded sleeve “fits 16” laptop.” Main material is listed as Ribba Weave, leather-free, with a composition of 75% recycled polyester, 15% nylon, 5% plastic, 5% other materials. Bellroy backs it with a 6-year warranty for faults in materials and workmanship under normal use.
This listing is the briefs lane on Unseen Carry. Backpacks and slings are separate pages.
Who it’s for
Use it if you want a laptop in a brief, not a pack: padded 16-inch sleeve, ultra-wide main zip, front quick-access pocket with a key clip, detachable padded shoulder strap, soft rolled-edge webbing handles, luggage pass-through, and an internal Apple AirTag slip pocket. Official designer copy: “stands out on the commute and blends in at the office.”
Skip it if you need a water-bottle pocket, a 20L+ workpack, or a structured leather attaché. Bellroy’s own Via Workpack ($159) and Tokyo Work Bag ($199) are on the same site for people who want more volume.

Honest verdict
Use it. For a work day that wants a brief instead of a backpack, this is the current default slim commuter: 16-inch sleeve, wide zip, pass-through, six-year warranty, $135 on the official US page.
Do not buy it if you actually need a pack or a bottle pocket. The official feature list is a laptop, a mesh zip, and a front pocket. That is the point. Re-review if Bellroy changes the $135 price, the 14L spec, or the 16-inch laptop claim.
